Abstract:

The analysis results show that the distribution and fluctuation of biological productivity in the Tonkin Gulf  clearly show the "regionality" and "seasonality. The trend of surface temperature of Tonkin Gulf increased by about 0.5°C in the past 25 years since 1992 may be an indicator of the disadvantage of the environment to bio-productivity, where by biomass and productivity biology of plankton community in Tonkin Gulf has shown a downward trend. The increasingly complex evolution of the Enso phenomenon has also affected the biomass and biological productivity of the plankton community in Tonkin Gulf: the period of operation of the Enso phenomenon shows that the biological productivity and Tonkin Gulf biomass higher than the years when this phenomenon did not occur and the period of El Niño occurrence, the biomass and biomass productivity was higher than that of La Niña, Depending on the intensity and duration of operation, the fluctuations of biological productivity and biomass in each period of this phenomenon also vary. Thus, the fluctuations of weather and climate phenomena have affected the processes of disturbance and transportation of materials (waves, wind, flow regimes, front activities, vortices ...) as well as ecological conditions (temperature, number of sunny hours, etc.) have a certain impact on biological productivity and biomass in Tonkin Gulf.
