Abstract

Black sea cucumber broodstock were collected at Van Boi, Cat Ba Island, Hai Phong City in August, 2016 and identified as Holothuria leucospilota species using the morphological and ossicular classification. The artificial breeding was implemented in September, 2016. During experiment, the environmental conditions were kept stably with water temperature of 29±1oC, Dissolved Oxygen DO of 5,2±0,2 mg/l, salinity of 30±0,50/00 and pH of 8,2±0,4. The fertilised eggs were developed to two-cell embryos at 1.5 h post-fertilisation. Embryonic development was recorded from 4 to 8 h post-fertilization. Then, embryos gradually elongated and developed into larval stages including Gastrula, Auricularia, Doliolaria and Pentactula. At the Pentactula stage, larvae swam close to substrates, settled and transformed into juveniles. The period of metamorphosis was completed at 27 days post-fertilisation.
