Introduction
Center for Marine Environmental Research and Monitoring is an unit belongs to the Research Institute for Marine Fisheries. Its functions is to carry out tasks on monitoring and warning marine environment and epidemics; to do research on the relationship between marine environment and marine fisheries resources.
The Center for Marine Environmental Research and Monitoring has its own legal recognisation, seal, and is allowed to have the bank accounts at the State Treasury and the Banks that operate in accordance with the law.
The headquarters are located in Hai Phong City, Vietnam.
The operation budget of CEMERM is allocated from the State Budget and other sources of income as designated by law.
English name: Fishing Forecast Research Center (hereafter CEMERM).
Tasks

To develop and submit to the RIMF:Strategies,plans,programs and projects in the long-term, every five years, and implementing every year; National standards, national technical regulations, economic and technical norms, processes and procedure, rules and technical guidances in the field assigned.

Monitoring and warning marine environment and disease epidemics, providing information for fishery management and production.

Research on the current situation and dynamic of marine environment; relationship among 3 factors: environment, marine resource and fisheries.

Research on assessment of climate change impacts to environment, ecology and fisheries.

To do research and application of management and technological solutions in order to prevent, reduce and solve environmental pollution.

To develop processes and procedure, monitoring and warning marine environment & disease epidemics for fishery management and production and protection of marine environment.

Building a marine environment database; application of information technology and remote sensing in doing research on marine environment and marine environment protection activities.
