* General objective: Given out several solutions for restructuring the fishing fishery in coastal and inshore region of Kien Giang province aiming at development the fisheries following the sustainable trend. * Specific objectives: - Assess the exploitation capacity (current exploitation status, fishing gear, fishing grounds, exploitation seasons, economic efficiency, etc.) of occupations in coastal and offshore waters of Kien Giang and the current status of management and protection of marine stock in the province. - Zoning exploitation areas and restructuring the fleets of fishing boats for suitable with coastal and inshore region in Kien Giang province. - Given out several solutions on sides of organization, management and mechanisms as well as policies for the sustainable development of the fishing fleet in coastal and inshore region in Kien Giang province. * Content: - Content 1: Status of exploitation and management and protection of marine stock in coastal and inshore areas in Kien Giang seawaters. - Content 2: Assessment of the socio-economic situation of the fishermen communities in coastal and inshore areas in Kien Giang province. - Content 3: Research to determine the maximum fishing sustainable yield (MSY) and optimal fishing effort in coastal and inshore areas in Kien Giang - Content 4: Proposing solutions to zoning exploitation and rearranging the structure of exploitation in coastal and inshore areas in Kien Giang
