* General objectives: To enhance the ability and responsibility of local communities associated with delegating manageable authority for short – necked clam stock in coastal areas of Kien Giang province, in order to manage catching activities and protect stock sustainably. On that basis, to replicate the models of co-management in protection of marine stock over the province. * Specific objectives: - Set up a co-management model of short – necked clam stock protection in Son Hai commune, Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province. - Build up an area for authoritative delegation, supervision and protection of the stock of the short- necked clams in Son Hai commune, Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province. - Propose solutions to develop the co-management model of marine stock protection in Kien Giang province in accordance with practical situation. * Content: - Content 1: Building the bases and arguments for set up a co-management model of marine stock protection in Kien Giang province. - Content 2: Establishing a co-management model of the short – necked clam stock in Son Hai commune, Kien Luong district. - Content 3: Build up an area for authoritative delegation, supervision and protection of the stock of the short- necked clams in Son Hai commune, Kien Luong district; Proposing solutions to replicate the model.
