Objectives: * General objectives: Conversion of invasive fishing gears affecting to stock, environment and ecosystem to high selective ones (line fishing, purse seining, trapping, etc.) I order to gradually balance exploitation intensity with the ability to restore and regenerate stock; linking exploitation development with conservation of aquatic stock, protection of the natural environment and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for fishermen. * Specific objectives: - Assess the situation and demand for conversion of fishing gears of the fishermen community in Nghe An province in the period of 2022-2025. - Built up a model for converting from invasive and destructive fishing gears to highly selective ones to suit with the practical situation of Nghe An fishing boats, ensuring efficiency and sustainability. - Set up a plan and propose solutions to convert invasive and destructive fishing gears to highly selective ones to suit with the sustainable development of fishing fisheries and stable livelihoods for the fishermen community. Content: - Content 1. Investigate and evaluate the status and demand for conversion of fishing gears of the fishermen community in Nghe An province. - Content 2. Built up a model for converting invasive and destructive fishing gears to suitable highly selective fishing gears. - Content 3. Propose solutions for converting invasive and destructive fishing gears to suitable highly selective fishing gears to sustainably develop the fishing fisheries and stabilize the livelihoods of the fishermen community.
