Abstract:

Early life fisheries characteristics of marine resources in the coastal waters of Quang Nam province and thereabout waters were studied using the ichthyoplankton survey data collected in period 2016-2017 representative for moonson season. There were 33 fixed sampling stations designed in the study area applying the parallel transect system with the distance between stations is 7 nautical miles. Sampling gears used to collect samples were larvae net (2a= 450µm) for fish egg. There are total of 30 taxons belonging to 33 fish families were identified. It is noted that the density of fish larvea in Southwest monsoon were rather higher in comparison to that in Northeast monsoon. The spawning season of fishes is in the southwest monsoon. Based on the locations of high density distribution of fish larvae, two potential areas for establishing the fishery refugiawere determined, including the southeastern of Son Tra island and along the coastal waters of Hoi An - Thang Binh.
